African Fabric Jewelry

 

This half-day workshop will allow the participants to use their creative spirit to design fabric jewelry such as necklaces, bracelets and earrings.  These items will be created by using a colorful blend of African fabrics cut in strips. Various embellishments can be used to enhance the jewelry such as beads, ornaments, pendants, earring pieces, ribbon or embroidery thread. A $10.00 Kit fee, given to the instructor, will be collected for items to incorporate into your project.

 

Supplies
Sewing machine with zig-zag capability
African cotton fabric cut in 1 - 1 ½" wide strips the width of the fabric (44 - 45")
Thread to match your fabric
BSK (Basic Sewing Kit - fabric and paper scissors, needle and thread, thimble, seam riper, etc.)
Embellishments (optional)
Rotary cutter and cutting board
